About the Album

Life of Dice is a deeply personal hip-hop project exploring the choices we make, the risks we take, and the consequences that shape our lives.

Built around the metaphor of gambling with one's own future, the album draws from Smoke Light's lived experiences with addiction, loss, hardship, recovery, and personal transformation.

The project follows a journey from recklessness and darkness toward accountability, healing, hope, and growth. Through honest lyricism and powerful storytelling, each song represents a different chapter in that journey, reflecting both the difficult realities of the past and the determination to build a better future.

Rooted in Smoke Light's identity as a Blackfoot artist from the Kainai and Siksika Nations, Life of Dice brings an Indigenous perspective to universal experiences of struggle, survival, and resilience.

At its heart, the album carries a message: No matter how many chances we've taken, how many mistakes we've made, or how far we've fallen, we still have the power to change the direction of our lives.

Life of Dice is more than an album. It is a story of survival, self-discovery, and finding purpose through adversity.

From the Smoke to the Light.
